Delete your Bookvue account

In the app

Open the Bookvue app on your iPhone or Android phone, go to More, tap Delete account, and confirm. It takes effect straight away and signs you out on every device.

By email

Write to privacy@bookvue.co.za from the email address on your account, or include the mobile number on it. We will confirm it is you and delete the account within 30 days.

What is erased

• Your name, email address, mobile number and password.
• Every signed-in session, pending sign-in code and password reset, and any email to you not yet sent.
• Your place in your business: you are removed from its team.

Once deleted, an account cannot be restored. You can register again with the same email address as a new account.

What your business keeps

Sales, invoices, journals and other accounting records belong to the business, not to the person who entered them, and South African tax and company law requires them to be kept for 5 years. They stay with the business, no longer linked to your name.

• If you were the business's only owner, its longest-standing admin (or member, if there is no admin) becomes the owner.
• If you were the last person in the business, the business is closed: nobody can sign in to it, and its records are kept for 5 years, as the law requires.
